UAE Pro League announces fixtures for new season

The 2020-2021 UAE football season will kick off on September 3 with the first leg of the Arabian Gulf Cup play-offs.

There will be three opening-round matches on day one with Ittihad Kalba hosting Al Jazira, Shabab Al Ahli welcoming Al Dhafra and Fujairah playing Ajman.

Action from the first round will continue on September 4 with Hatta taking on Bani Yas, Al Ain facing Khorfakkan and Al Wahda hosting Al Wasl.

Based on the newly introduced cup format, league champions Sharjah and cup title holders Al Nasr have received a bye to the quarterfinals.

The return-leg cup matches will be held on October 1 and 2.

Meanwhile, the Arabian Gulf League (AGL) is set to start on September 9, with Ittihad Kalba getting the competition underway at home against Shabab Al Ahli, while Hatta travels to Abu Dhabi to face Al Wahda.

The first half of the AGL is scheduled for completion with Matchday 13 taking place on January 1 and 2, 2021.
