The UAE have registered their third consecutive win in the 11-a-side football competition at the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019.

They put on a dominant display to beat Korea 3-0 in the opening match of the second round at Zayed Sports City.

After a goalless first half, Abdullah Peerak opened the scoring in the 48th minute, while Khaled Al-Mazmi scored a further two goals in the 54th and 55th minute.

The UAE previously beat Jamaica 4-1 and South Africa 4-0 in the first stage.

Football made its debut at the World Games in 1986 and has become one of the largest sports on the programme, featuring traditional and unified teams across the 11-a-side, 7-a-side and futsal competitions.
