Two players and 11 staff members taking part in the Indian Premier League 2020 Season have tested positive for coronavirus, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In a statement released on Saturday it said all the affected personnel as well as their close contacts are asymptomatic and have been isolated from other team members and are being monitored by the IPL Medical Team.
It added that stringent health and safety protocols have been put in place for the tournament which is scheduled to start from September 19 in the UAE.

▪️ All affected personnel & their close contacts are asymptomatic and have been isolated.
Accordingly, upon landing in the UAE, all the participants have followed a mandatory testing and quarantine programme.
A total of 1,988 tests were carried out between August 20 and 28 on all participant groups in the UAE.
These groups include players, support staff, team management, BCCI staff, IPL operational teams, as well as hotel and ground transport staff.
According to the organisers, all participants will be regularly tested throughout the IPL 2020 Season.
