Tirfi Tsegaye gunning for second women’s crown at Dubai Marathon

The 2016 Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon is once again attracting strong interest from elite international athletes. Former champion Tirfi Tsegaye Beyene is the latest high-profile name to confirm participation in the world’s richest marathon, which gets underway on January 22. The 31-year-old Ethiopian joins a powerful women’s line-up in the event, set to be held in an Olympic year. Competition is expected to be fierce as runners look to secure impressive times and national team selection for Rio 2016.
