Former UAE skipper Khurram Khan has been named the ICC Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year. His batting performance was crucial to guiding the UAE to the group stage of the World Cup, earlier this year. Meanwhile, Australia captain Steve Smith has been named ICC Cricketer of the Year as well as the best Test player. The 26-year-old batsman scored a world leading 1,734 Test runs, with seven centuries over the voting period. South Africa's AB de Villiers has been rated the best one-day international player, while his team mate Faf du Plessis won the award for best Twenty20 performance for his 56-ball innings of 119 against West Indies in January.
