Hundreds of frontline professionals in the fight against COVID-19 are being offered a dedicated area at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2020.

The event is being held under special conditions in line with precautionary measures and only a small number of spectators will be allowed to attend.

But the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi, the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority and Abu Dhabi Police have granted permission for the workers' entry.

Six hundred frontline professionals will be able to watch the race from Abu Dhabi Hill.

It's been renamed Frontline Heroes Hill in honour of their work during the pandemic.

The event runs from December 11 to 13 at the Yas Island Circuit.

Further information on the selection process is expected soon.
