Sri Lanka’s hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals of the World Cup have taken a major blow.
They were thrashed by nine wickets in their match against South Africa on Friday.
After bowling out their opposition for just 203, the Proteas easily chased down their target thanks to half centuries from Hashim Amla and skipper Faf du Plessis.
The result keeps Sri Lanka at seventh place in the points table.
Meanwhile it was only South Africa's second win of the tournament - they have no chance of making it to the final four.
