Sharjah FC advanced into the AFC Champions League Two semi-finals after defeating Shabab Al Ahli 5-4 on penalties, after their quarter-final second leg tie ended 1-1 on the night after extra time and 2-2 on aggregate on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Adel Alhosani was the match winner for Sharjah after he saved Kauan Santos’ penalty. The UAE side will now face Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun FC in the semi-finals.

In the other semi-final the Lion City Sailors will face either Sydney FC or Jeonbuk who face each other on Thursday. The Australian side go into the second leg with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.
