Drivers are being encouraged to check out the route of the Dubai Tour 2016. The third leg of the professional cycling race is taking place today, with the final tomorrow. Several roads around Al Awir will be closed, and diversions are in place as cyclists make their way from Dubai to the Hatta Dam via Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. The road closures are from 10.15am until 3.30pm.Meanwhile, Italian Elia Viviani beat off a stiff challenge from a host of sprinters to win Stage 2 on Thursday. The Team Sky rider crossed the finish line in 4 hours 7 minutes and 39 seconds ahead of teammate Ben Swift and defending champion Mark Cavendish.
