Italy’s Jonathan Milan powered to victory on stage four of the UAE Tour, winning a dramatic sprint finish in Fujairah.
The Lidl–Trek rider surged to the line after the day’s breakaway was caught in the final 300 metres of the fast, flat stage.
In a hectic dash to the finish, Milan proved strongest, holding off Britain’s Ethan Vernon, who took second place, while third place went to Milan’s younger brother, Matteo.
Meanwhile, stage three winner Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain Victorious finished safely in the pack and retains the overall lead, keeping the red jersey heading into Friday’s flat stage.
