He becomes only the fourth player to successfully defend their first ever world title, after he took the second set with 36 darts, hitting all his doubles and preventing Lewis from edging forward. Anderson headed to victory with a 170 finish, bagging the enormous Sid Waddell trophy at Alexandra Palace in London.
