Shahid Afridi, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 40-year-old took to Twitter to confirm the news and sought the blessings of his fans for his recovery.

"I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m COVID-19 positive," he wrote.

Afridi had been travelling across several parts of his country to distribute food and other essentials through his foundation, Hope Not Out.
