A South Korean footballer has tried to blame his moustache in an attempt to overturn a doping violation. Kang Soo-il was given a six-month ban by FIFA after failing a test which he puts down to a supplement designed to help grow his facial hair. The Jeju United player was due to make his senior debut against the UAE last June, but was found to have the banned steroid methyltestosterone in his system.
