Wales and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has been named the Welsh player of the year. The forward has won the accolade for a record fifth time and his six goals in Euro 2016 qualifying has helped Wales move to the brink of reaching the finals. The nation only need a point from their final two qualifiers and would be their first appearance in a major tournament since 1958. Bale also picked up the players’ player and fans' player of the year awards.
