This year's Asia Cup will shift from Sri Lanka to the UAE.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly confirmed the decision following the board's Apex Council meeting in Mumbai on Thursday.
"Asia Cup will be in UAE, as it is the only place where there won't be rain," he said.
It comes after Sri Lanka Cricket raised concerns about hosting Asia Cup due to the economic and political crisis in the island nation.
Asia Cup, which is set to be played from August 27 to September 11, will be in the T20 format.
