Pilgrims returning from Hajj through Dubai Airports have been greeted with a special passport stamp and a warm welcome as part of an initiative by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai.
The stamp, bearing the message "The UAE Welcomes the Return of Pilgrims", was introduced to mark the end of the pilgrimage and recognise the spiritual significance of the journey.
Returning pilgrims were also welcomed by GDRFA staff and children who presented flowers and commemorative gifts on arrival.
Officials said the initiative was designed to enhance the travel experience and reflect the UAE’s traditions of hospitality and appreciation.
Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shangiti, Assistant Director General for Airports Affairs at GDRFA Dubai, said the return of pilgrims is an occasion of deep spiritual significance and that the initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to combining efficient services with a human-centred approach.
Dubai Airports also implemented dedicated lanes, specialist teams and streamlined procedures to help ensure a smooth arrival process for returning pilgrims.
GDRFA Dubai said the initiative forms part of wider efforts to strengthen traveller experiences during national and religious occasions.
