Dubai Police General Command will organise the second edition of the 'Proud of the UAE' cycling race on Sunday, October 4, bringing together cyclists for an 80-kilometre challenge designed to promote fitness, community wellbeing and national pride.

The race will start from the Nad Al Sheba Centre at 6:00 am as part of this season's cycling programme.

It is being organised in cooperation with the UAE Cycling Federation, the Dubai Sports Council and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Dubai Police has announced a total prize purse of AED 140,000 for the event, with awards to be presented to the winners.

Organisers said the race forms part of a series of sporting and national events that reflect pride in the UAE, celebrate the country's achievements and encourage greater participation in sport.

The initiative also aims to enhance quality of life and reinforce the concept of sport as a way of life, supporting the health, wellbeing and happiness of community members.
