British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has banned ministers from attending next month's World Economic Forum in Davos.
Johnson, who led his Conservative party to a spectacular election victory last week, has pledged to run a "people's government" that would focus on delivering Brexit.
"The emphasis will be upon delivering [the exit deal for] Brexit by 31 January and the NHS. That is what we promised, not going to Davos," a Downing Street source is quoted as saying by several media outlets.
"Our focus is on delivering for the people."
The decision to head to the Swiss ski resort to network with the global elite would have clashed with Conservatives' attempt to reposition it as a party for the "working-class".
