The Qatar Ministry of Interior has confirmed six people died during a helicopter crash into "regional waters" on Sunday - with search and rescue teams still searching for the body of the seventh and final crew member.
The Qatari Ministry of Defence claimed that the helicopter had a "technical malfunction" during a "routine duty" before discovering the bodies of six crew members in the wreckage.
The Qatari Ministry of Interior added that the rescue operation was being carried out by the Maritime Search and Rescue Team of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security, along with the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force.
