Disney's live-action Mulan movie is facing calls for a boycott after its leading star Liu Yife voiced support for police in Hong Kong.
Yifei, a naturalised US citizen, posted a message on China's social media service Weibo that read: "I support the Hong Kong police. You can all beat me now. What a shame for Hong Kong."
While the actor received widespread support on the Chinese platform, the hashtag #BoycottMulan started to trend on Twitter.
Over the last 10 weeks, thousands have taken to the streets in Hong Kong to fight for their democratic rights.
