The Israeli army said on Friday that the first trucks carrying food aid entered the Gaza Strip on Thursday through the newly opened northern crossing point.
This came as Israel increased the entry of supplies following increasing pressure to ease the humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
The army stated that the trucks were examined at the Kerem Shalom crossing before moving north to cross into the Gaza Strip.
Israel said earlier this month that it would reopen the Erez crossing, which has been closed since the outbreak of war with Hamas in October.
