Shawn Mendes cancels the rest of his world tour to prioritise his health.

The singer posted the news to his Instagram followers and said he was "was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away” referencing the long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

His world tour had started in June following the release of his latest album "Wonder". After just a couple of performances Mendes announced he needed a break, initially cancelling three weeks worth of shows.

Explaining that he's always found it "difficult to be on the road away from friends and family," he added that his decision to start touring after years off the road was "premature."

Shawn assured fans that he will still be making music and said he was heartbroken to let down those who had tickets for the shows.

He said: 'This doesn't mean I won't be making new music, and I can't wait to see you on tour in the future. I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I've taken the right time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking by me on this journey.'
