Just when you thought Middle East Film & Comic Con’s 2026 lineup couldn’t get any better, the region’s largest pop culture festival makes the ultimate grand slam.
WWE legend and Hollywood star John Cena is heading to the event at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi on September 12 and 13.
Cena has had an extraordinary career, from professional bodybuilding and working as a limousine driver in Massachusetts, to becoming a 17-time WWE World Champion and a global action-comedy star.
Fans will know him from major films including The Suicide Squad, Fast & Furious, Barbie, Bumblebee, and Superman.
But Cena’s achievements go well beyond the ring and the big screen.
He holds the Guinness World Record for granting the most Make-A-Wish wishes by an individual, has written best-selling children’s books, worked as a producer and narrator for TV sports series, and even recorded his own rap album, You Can’t See Me.
Cena joins an already star-studded MEFCC 2026 lineup, including One Piece star Mackenyu and Finnish actor Joonas Suotamo, best known for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Lurch in Netflix’s Wednesday.
And more big-name announcements are expected in the coming days.
Over one action-packed weekend at ADNEC Centre, fans can meet their favourite stars through exclusive signings, photo opportunities and live conversations.
Th event also brings together celebrities, creators and fans with panels, cosplay, gaming and comics — making it one of the region’s biggest celebrations of pop culture.
MEFCC is part of the Abu Dhabi Calendar, a year-round programme of events bringing entertainment, culture and experiences to the UAE capital.
