A collection of letters written by a young Bob Dylan to a high school sweetheart has been sold for a staggering $670,000 to a Portuguese book shop at auction this week.
Written between 1957 and 1959 the singer wrote the letters to Barbara Ann Hewitt, when he was still known as Bob Zimmerman.
The Livraria Lello bookshop in Porto Portugal plans to keep the the 42 handwritten letters totaling 150 pages complete, and available for Dylan fans and scholars to study, auctioneer RR Auction said in a statement on Friday.
