A series of performances on the Jubilee Stage at Expo 2020 Dubai on Friday, December 24, brought Palestinian culture and heritage to life as part of Palestine’s National Day.
The artist, Toni Qattan, a Jordanian national of Palestinian origin, elicited nostalgia with his patriotic tunes. The audience cheered as he performed his song, ‘Falastini’, and other national and Arabic songs like ‘Jannah Jannah’ and ‘Kufiya’.
Another round of applause greeted Arab Idol Season 3-star Manal Moussa, who hails from the village of Deir al-Assad. She performed traditional songs and sent a message of love and peace to the audience and Palestine.
Rounding off the night was the Asayel Folklore Dance Troupe, which performed Dabke, a dance combining circle and line dancing, to traditional music.
