Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has garnered over 7 million followers within a day of joining Instagram.
She made her debut with a powerful post that highlighted the plight of young women in Afghanistan since the Taliban tookover.
The actress, who is also a a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, said she aimed to use the platform for sharing the "stories and the voices of those across the globe who are fighting for their basic human rights".
