In an effort to reduce traffic jams, developers across the UAE have started working on plans to incorporate mass transit systems into their projects. Bluewaters Island, is one of the major developments that has been awarded contracts by the RTA for the entrance to the island. The AED 6 billion project which is located just off the JBR coastline, will house Dubai Eye, the world’s largest 210 metre Ferris wheel. The entrance of the island will have a main bridge with two lanes in each direction. It will also have two lanes designated for the Personal Rapid Transit System which will lift visitors to and from Nakheel Habrour Metro Station.
