Dubai is reinforcing its global leadership in sustainability as the 27th edition of WETEX — the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition — officially opened on Tuesday.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, inaugurated the event, which has brought together over 3,100 companies from 65 countries, showcasing the latest technologies in clean energy, water and environmental solutions.

He said Dubai has become a strategic hub for major global events in sustainability and innovation, thanks to strong public-private and international partnerships.

WETEX, he noted, plays a key role in supporting national goals like the UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy.

During a tour of the exhibition, organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Sheikh Ahmed explored new innovations in AI, renewable energy, digital tools and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.

He also visited international pavilions from countries including China, Russia, Germany, France and South Korea.
