OpenAI has announced that the standalone ChatGPT app, which made its debut on iOS in May, is now set to land on Android devices next week.

The highly-anticipated Android release comes after ChatGPT's successful reception on Apple's platform.

During the initial iOS app launch, ChatGPT had already hinted at its expansion plans for Android users. The company had stated, "P.S. Android users, you're next! ChatGPT will be coming to your devices soon."

As promised, OpenAI recently tweeted about the impending Android rollout, revealing that ChatGPT will be available to Android users next week. Moreover, eager users can now pre-register for the app on the Google Play Store. Although the app is free, pre-registered users will have the added benefit of automatic installation as soon as the app goes live on the store.

For the US market, ChatGPT's Android release is expected to coincide with the same timeline as the iOS app's launch. The anticipation is building as Android users eagerly await access to the conversational AI-powered app.

ChatGPT's Google Play Store listing suggests that the app will be available in specific regions, such as India, despite being open for pre-registration. OpenAI aims to make the app accessible to users in various countries as early as possible, ensuring a global reach for its innovative AI application.
