Dubai is set to become the first city outside of Europe to host the World Retail Congress. It has won the bid to stage the 10th edition of the international gathering, which will take place next year. The announcement came during the concluding day of the latest session in Rome, where a Dubai trade mission participated. The retail sector is a key pillar of the emirate’s economy, contributing about 29% to the GDP last year.
