Dubai South announced a partnership with Huawei to adopt digital solutions within the area, including sustainable communications infrastructure, data management, transportation, operations, and security.

Dubai South is one of the largest single-urban master development focusing on aviation, logistics and real estate.

The announcement comes after an agreement was signed between Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation Corporation and Dubai South and Jerry Liu, CEO of Huawei UAE.

“The collaboration with Huawei enables us to build a connected aviation community capable of supporting sophisticated services that cater to the future of transportation and mobility, said Khalifa Al Zaffin.

“This project will set the benchmark for other connected communities towards the region’s rapid digitalisation,” added Jerry Liu.

Reportedly, Huawei’s solutions already power some of the UAE’s prominent airport projects.

As a part of this agreement, Dubai South plans to deploy a fully connected, high-bandwidth, private network for machine interactions.

The development will also tap into Huawei’s background in designing an advanced integrated operations centre for centralised monitoring and control operations, traffic, and security.

The two organisations said they would explore solutions to support a mixed-traffic, intelligent transport system for autonomous and driver-assisted vehicles, in a statement.

Furthermore, Dubai South and Huawei are considering a potential collaboration on an AI-enabled platform for aviation, logistics, education and training, leisure and hospitality.

The two entities seek to develop a unified international cybersecurity standard to safeguard digital projects.
