Shipping and logistics firm UPS has pledged to plant more than 10,000 trees to offset the emissions from cargo delivered from EXPO 2020 Dubai.

The initiative is being called ‘Forest of the Future’ as the company called the EXPO site a “sustainable marvel” on their social media.

They are contributing to the efforts by planting a tree for each customer that ships from the UPS Expo 2020 customer counters.

In this manner, the carbon dioxide for each package is expected to be mitigated.

Users can select where they want to have their tree planted from countries in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East, Africa and Asia, including the UAE and Japan.

UPS recently released its Corporate Sustainability Report with a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, including fueling 40 per cent of ground operations with alternative fuels by 2025.
