Venezuela suspends CNN programming
February 17, 2017
The Venezuelan government has ordered the suspension of CNN's Spanish-language programming in that country.
The Venezuelan Telecommunications Commission Director accused CNN of defaming and distorting the truth.
The suspension comes after CNN aired a report alleging passports and visas were being sold illegally in a Venezuelan embassy.
The report cited an intelligence document which CNN says links Venezuelan vice-president, Tareck El Aissami and others to the alleged fraud.
