Trump budget cuts cash for International Space Station

US President Donald Trump wants to cut funding for the International Space Station (ISS) by 2025.

As per his 2019 budget proposal, NASA will not abandon the space station entirely, but the aim is to "encourage commercial development" for research and other projects.

It's reported that the US government would create a $150 million programme to help prepare private companies to take over space station operations over the next seven years.

The budget request, which was released Monday, allocates about $19.9 billion to NASA, an increase of $370 million over last year's request.
