Norwegian oil, gas plants shut after tanker, frigate collide

Norway has shut down the Sture Oil Terminal and several offshore fields after an oil tanker and a $440-million frigate collided off its west coast on Thursday.

It's not immediately clear what caused the collision, which left eight people injured.

According to reports, the frigate Helge Instad is loaded with torpedoes and weapons systems and said to be unstable. All 127 on board have been evacuated.

The Maltese-flagged tanker, Sola TS, was not damaged and its 23-man crew remained on board.
