The UAE's Asian Cup dreams have come to an end at the semi-final stage.
Alberto Zaccheroni's men were beaten 4-0 by Qatar at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Boualem Khoukhi opened the scoring with a low strike into the bottom corner in the 22nd minute before Al Moez Ali got his eighth goal of the tournament a quarter-of-an-hour later.
Although the Whites responded impressively in the second half, putting their opponents under pressure and seeing an appeal for a penalty waved away, they couldn't find a breakthrough and Hassan Al-Haydos added a third for Félix Sánchez Bas' side before Hamid Ismail got a fourth.
Japan now await Qatar in Friday's final.
This year's edition is the second consecutive Asian Cup in which the UAE have reached the last-four following their third-place finish in Australia in 2015.
