Nine arrested in India for alleged IS terror links

India's anti-terror squad (ATS) in the western state of Maharashtra has detained nine people for their alleged links to the IS terror group.

The squad said it had received "very reliable input" about their activities and had monitored them for several weeks.

Chemicals, explosives, mobile phones, hard drives, SIM cards, acid bottles and sharp knives have also been seized from their residences.

The group has been charged under various section of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Bombay Police Act with further probe underway.
