Mark Zuckerberg is worried about the spread of ‘fake news’

The founder of Facebook says he’s worried about the spread of fake news on the website.

Mark Zuckerberg has written a near 6,000-word letter saying how social media risks “fragmenting” users’ sense of reality.

He’s concerned people are living in “filter bubbles” – only seeing opinions from friends who they agree with.
Zuckerberg wrote: “For the past decade, Facebook has focused on connecting friends and families.

“With that foundation, our next focus will be developing the social infrastructure for community — for supporting us, for keeping us safe, for informing us, for civic engagement, and for inclusion of all.”
