UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar retains cycling No. 1 spot

The latest UCI World Cycling rankings have been released and UAE Team Emirates rider Tadej Pogacar (SLO) has retained the top spot with 5,531 points.

Pogacar did not defend his overall winner's title at last week's UAE Tour, choosing to start his season at Spain's Vuelta Ciclista Andalucia.

This year's overall winner of the UAE Tour, Belgium's Remco Evenepoel, kept his world number 3 ranking for team Soudal - Quick Step with 4,057 points, just after compatriate Wout van Aert from Jumbo Vista in second place on 4,525.

Other UAE Team Emirates riders in the top 30 are Juan Ayuso (ESP) on 1,600 points and Adam Yates (GBR) on 1,590.

Lower ranked Emirates riders who have all improved or retained their positions include: João Almeida (POR), Jay Vine (AUS), Marc Hirschi (SUI), Matteo Trentin (ITA) and Diego Ulissi (ITA).
