Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise walked the red carpet at Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace for the Middle East premiere of 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One' as his fans cheered him on.

He was joined by the rest of the movie's star-studded cast, including actors Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff and Hayley Atwell, and director Christopher McQuarrie.

Speaking to ARN News, McQuarrie highlighted the "absolutely extraordinary" experience of shooting in the UAE, including at the new Midfield Terminal of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

This is the second Mission: Impossible movie to be filmed in Abu Dhabi.

The Midfield Terminal scenes alone took a month to prepare and film, and required 762 members of cast, crew and staff.

The film faced an added layer of difficulty from previous productions, as it was filmed during the peak of the pandemic.

Speaking to ARN News, Simon Pegg, who plays the character of Benji, explained that health and safety was "paramount in Tom and McQ's thoughts".

However, this didn't stop the film from upping its stunt and production game, just as it does with every new movie of the franchise.

Hayley Atwell, Cruise's co-star, told ARN News that she had to train even harder to look "incompetent", mastering the skills of each stunt then having to add a layer of clumsiness to reflect the personality of her character, Grace.

The movie will be released across the UAE on July 13.
