Employees hide IT security incidents in 53% of business in the UAE.
That’s according to a new report from Kaspersky Lab and B2B International.
It found that 26% of targeted attacks on UAE businesses in the last year involved phishing, where unsuspecting employees unintentionally exposed internal company data to hackers by opening attachments on emails.
The research also showed that unaware and careless employees caused malware infections in 55% of incidents in the UAE.
57% of companies surveyed in the UAE admitted that staff was the biggest weakness in their IT security and they needed to implement personnel-focused measures to improve security.
David Emm, Principle Security Researcher at Kaspersky lab, explains how company policies may also be contributing to the issue.
